Cupuacu Butter Profile
Cupuacu Butter is made from the seeds of the Cupuacu tree that can be found in tropical rainforests. It is commonly found in Colombia, Bolivia, Peru and Brazil.
This butter is praised for its rich content of Phytoserols that benefit dry, damaged skin, polyphenols, which combat free radicals in the tissues, and fatty acids to protect and moisturize. Cupuacu Butter delivers true healing and restructuring benefits to the skin as it improves the skin’s moisture barrier. It offers hydration for improved elasticity and anti-inflammatory activity. Cupuacu Butter is continually absorbed into one’s skin all day long.
Although the Cupuacu tree and the cocoa tree look similar, the two butters are different. Cupuacu Butter possesses a softer, creamier consistency than Cocoa Butter, and it offers exceptional moisturization for the skin. Its level of water absorption is significantly higher than lanolin anhydrous.
Although it is not labeled as an SPF, Cupuacu Butter is well known for its ability to absorb damaging UVA and UVB rays for natural sun protection. It also is completely free of paraben preservatives.
